troyh.org | Free Linux Shell Account FAQ
What? Free Linux shell accounts.
Why? So friends can have a reliable place to use or learn about Linux without having to have a dedicated server. It's my semi-pathetic contribution to society? It also gives me a chance to hack around as a SysAdmin type.
Getting Started: 1. email me saying you are a friend and you want an account, that's it. 2. You will need SSH client. Go get PuTTY (Free Win32 Telnet/SSH Client) if you are on Windows. If you are already on Unix or another Linux Distro, then you already have it (I hope).
Machine History
This machine was rescued (Scavenged) from the basement at
50 Broad St. Data Center. It has been cleaned from the dirt, grim,
Kentucky Fried Chicken smell, 100 degree temperatures, and other machine killing
elements to its present home in
Chatham, NJ. This classic box was an original
Order Processing
machine from late 1990's. Pretty cool huh? This machine helped make
history and now is put out to stud as a useful Linux Server.
